Terms of use
In force from 29 July 2026. Short, because there is not much to agree to. There is no account, no subscription and nothing held on a server, so most of what a normal set of terms covers does not apply here.
Who runs this
Zippabout is run by Sotiris Spyrou. You can reach a real person at hello@zippabout.com. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
What you are agreeing to
By using Zippabout you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use it. Closing the tab is all it takes: there is no account to delete.
What Zippabout is
A calculator. You type in what a job offers, how far it is and how long you think it will take, along with your own cost per mile and the hourly rate you will not go below. It does arithmetic and shows you the result, with every step of the sum on screen.
What Zippabout is not
- Not a wage slip and not an accounting record. The figures are estimates built from numbers you supplied. If your time estimate is out, so is the answer.
- Not tax, legal, financial or employment advice. For tax, go to gov.uk. For your rights at work, speak to a union or a solicitor.
- Not a promise about your pay. Nothing here can make a job pay more. It tells you what a job is worth per hour so the decision is yours and it is an informed one.
- Not connected to any delivery, courier or ride-hailing company. There is no partnership, no data feed and no affiliation with any platform, named or otherwise.
Your data and your device
Everything you enter is saved in your own browser on your own device. It is not sent to a server, because there is no server holding it. That has a consequence worth knowing: if you clear your browser data, switch device, or use private browsing, your job history goes with it. Export a backup from the app if you want to keep it. Losing local data is not something that can be recovered from our end, because we never had a copy. The privacy page spells all of this out.
The rates it uses
The default cost per mile is HMRC's published approved mileage rate for your vehicle type, and the starting hourly floor is the National Living Wage. Both are public figures and both are named on screen where they are used. They change, usually each April. Every effort is made to keep them current, and the ledger of sources is published in the repository, but the authoritative version is always the one on gov.uk, not the one here.
Provided as is
Zippabout is free and is provided as is, with no warranty. It may contain mistakes. If you find one, tell me and I will fix it. To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for losses arising from decisions you make using it, and nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected by anything written here.
Fair use
Use it for its purpose. Do not try to break it, scrape it at a volume that degrades it for other people, or pass it off as your own product. The code and the wording are mine; the arithmetic is nobody's.
Changes
These terms can change. The date at the top says when the current version took effect. A change that materially affects you will be called out on the site rather than slipped in quietly.
If something goes wrong
Email hello@zippabout.com first. Most things are a bug and get fixed. Disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales.
