Why I built it

The apps that hand out the work are very good at telling you what a job pays, and very quiet about what it pays per hour, once fuel, wear and the wait at the door come off. That gap, between the number on the screen and the number in your pocket, is where the squeeze lives.

There's a name for that slow squeeze, and I ended up writing a book about it, called Grift, Inc. Zippaboutis meant to be the opposite of the thing the book is about. It does the sum the app won't show you, it shows every step, and it takes your side. No account, no ads, and nothing about your work leaves your phone.

It won't make a bad job good. It'll just tell you the truth about one before you drive across town for it, so the choice is yours and it's an informed one.
